Edinburgh Zoo – Centenary Gala Dinner – National Museums Scotland

Zoo100

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland opened Edinburgh Zoo to the public for the first time back in July 1913. On Friday 15th November 2013 the Society celebrated their centenary with a fundraising gala dinner held in the Grand Gallery at National Museums Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh . The dinner was attended by the Society’s Royal Patron HRH The Princess Royal.

The Gala Dinner celebrates the Society’s achievements but also looks to the future, with their desire to build a 21 century Discovery Centre at Edinburgh Zoo, and safeguarding endangered species and their habitats through continued conservation programmes and education.

A wonderful evening of entertainment, a living collection parade (of the Zoo’s wonderful animals with their keepers), addresses and a grand auction for the chance to buy some remarkable auction items donated by suppliers, sponsors and companies.

Tablecentres: our brief was the sea and seabed and it’s associated plant life form. Each of the 56 tablecentre arrangements is bespoke and totally unique.

Our own images taken during the setup are shown below…………….
